2025 Public Hunt Safety Brief
ORIENTATION / RECON DATES
All hunters must attend safety orientation on Monday, November 10, 2025
Recon from 09:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m.
Recon at least 3 locations. First come, first served.
HUNT DAYS
22 & 23 November, 2025
Enter off 40th Street –Exit 88 on I-94
Check-in begins no later than 6:00 a.m. but likely earlier
You may leave and return for lunch.
ALL HUNTERS MUST BE CHECKED OUT BY 6:30 p.m.
HUNTING BLINDS
Ground blinds can be constructed out of down material.
Pop-up blinds are allowed but must have hunter orange visible from all sides on the top of the blind.
SAFETY FIRST
Hunter Orange must be worn on your upper torso and visible from all directions
Do not use existing tree stands
Unexploded Ordinance exists on the installation. Do not disturb, pick up, move or dig up metal objects lying on the ground
Take extra care around your vehicle.
Treat every firearm as if it is loaded.
Be aware of your surroundings – know your target and what is beyond it.
Unloading the firearm when crossing obstacles and/or getting in or out of a tree stand.

Hunting with handguns
Alcohol use
Buckshot
Driving Deer
Tree Stands
Small game hunting
Parking that obstructs traffic
IN THE EVENT OF AN EMERGENCY
Call 911 in a life-threatening emergency
Call the Hunt Coordinator if:
You are lost
Have wounded a deer and are tracking it after dark or the closing hour
Have wounded a deer and are tracking it into the Impact Area
Would like to change hunting areas
Mobility impaired and need help
